A weekend getaway: Nemacolin Woodlands Resort
Last weekend I hit the road with some of my blogger girlfriends and headed to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, just a short drive from Pittsburgh. If you're a bachelor fanatic like myself, this resort may sound familiar because it is where Jojo took some of the guys on her season of the Bachelorette.
Along with Ashley of Afternoon Espresso, Zoe from Zoe With Love & Kim from Yes, Wear That! we enjoyed some serious R&R. We stayed in the beautiful Falling Rock hotel, which is based off of Frank Loyd Wright's design of his Pennsylvania home, Falling Water. It was so gorgeous! We were greeted with a glass of champagne in front of a giant fireplace when we arrived in the lobby, and fresh macarons and a sweet note when we arrived to our hotel rooms.
We enjoyed an 80 minute massage in the Woodlands spa, followed by girl talk and coffee in the spa's relaxation room. The relaxation room is decorated like your winter lodge dream home. A giant wood burning fireplace anchors the room with cushy chaise lounges and fluffy brown faux fur blankets for spa guests. We soaked up every minute we had in the relaxation room and may have even been a few minutes late to dinner because we didn't want to leave!
We enjoyed an amazing dinner and breakfast at Aqueous restaurant, the restaurant that is inside of the Falling Rock Resort. Both meals were incredible- I am still dreaming about the chocolate covered strawberry smoothie that I ordered for breakfast.
Another part of Nemacolin, the Chateau, is inspired by French arcitecture. We spent an afternoon in the Chateau and felt like royalty in the tea room. If you visit, you must carve out some time for this! Afternoon tea is by reservation only, and totally worth every second. The tea room is lavish and filled with details. We walked around in it for almost an hour just ooh-ahh ing at the luxury!
Nemacolin is the perfect girls trip, or a perfect weekend getaway for you and your better half. When we left the resort, I was already texting eric mentioning that we needed to book a weekend with just the two of us. It is so romantic and the service is impeccable. I cannot wait to go back!
If you have any questions regarding the resort, don't hesitate to reach out to me and I will answer to the best of my ability. You can also visit their website here!
